In the south of Colombia, is located the region of Cauca, with Popayan as capital, known as the “ciudad blanca”, in the so called Eje cafeteira, the coffee zone. Among the high mountain ranges and the plateau, at an altitude of about 1700 meters, the heavy rains and the volcanic soil, contribute to the production of a highest quality coffee. In this area, where the splendid plantations framed by the typical architecture of the bamboo farms, we find almost half of the national production of coffee.
The Arabica of Cauca is hand-picking and it’s appreciated worldwide for its particular sweetness.
