Organoleptic analysis: Costa Rica Higuerones shows a smooth body and understated acidity, with hints of caramelized citrus fruit and dried fruit. Hints of almond and gentian in aftertaste.

The Specialty Coffee Association of Costa Rica (Scacr) was established in 1993 by local producers in order to promote the enjoyment and production of Costa Rica on international markets.

Its aim is to promote the finest micro-batches from those areas, one of them is the coffee of the Higuerones plantation, in the Heredia district.

The price of the chosen batches, higher than normal on the market, is paid to the grower without intermediaries, to help families of farmers to raise their standard of living and allowing them to invest in improving the quality of their crops.

The peculiarity of these lots of coffee is their traceability throughout the entire production chain.
